Miami-Dade has a vibrant cultural scene, with private and public dollars flowing into the arts. In downtown Miami, the Perez Art Museum Miami and Miami Science Museum are creating a new waterfront cultural hub near the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County. On Miami Beach, the New World Symphony, America’s orchestra academy, is enjoying its new symphony hall that includes a unique outdoor projection screen for viewing concerts in the park.
Residents of southern Miami-Dade appreciate the varied performance offerings at the multidisciplinary South Dade Cultural Center, and other cultural venues are located in Aventura, Coral Gables, Little Havana and other communities. Miami-Dade is home to a number of impressive art collections, galleries and museums, and hosts Art Basel Miami Beach, Miami International Film Festival, the Miami Book Fair International, Carnival Miami and many other cultural events throughout the year.
