(Miami, Fl-July 22, 2020) – Veteran media and technology entrepreneur Michael Gerrity announced today that downtown Miami will become the future headquarters of his new global real estate video streaming platform launching next year called WORLD PROPERTY CHANNEL TV, also known as “WPC TV” (www.WPC.tv).

The platform, which is slated to launch in Q4 of 2021, plans to produce original daily real estate news programming covering market wrap-up reports on a global basis. WPC TV will also license existing real estate, lifestyle, shopping, investing and travel television programming to offer through its subscription-based streaming platform.

“Miami is absolutely the right place to build and launch our direct-to-consumer real estate streaming platform, given its massive international real estate market activities and global audience appeal that directly aligns with our future international real estate news and lifestyle video programming models,” says Gerrity. “With the extreme growth and success of Netflix, Amazon PRIME and Disney+ over the last few years, the time has now come for a dedicated niche video streaming platform just for the global real estate industry. Given the scale and size of the global real estate audience and market potential, we believe WPC TV could become Miami’s next unicorn tech company in the coming years with millions of monthly subscribers enjoying our streaming service.”

The company also plans a private $100 million private funding round commencing in Q4 of 2020 that will provide the financial basis to begin building the company’s initial 10,000 square foot news broadcast center and headquarters in the downtown / Brickell area of Miami in Q1, 2021.

Michael A. Finney, President and CEO of the Miami-Dade Beacon Council added “Miami-Dade is an attractive destination for production. Not only do we have a diverse talent base, but we have the infrastructure and multiple locations for these projects. According to Miami-Dade County Office of Film and Entertainment, this industry has an annual impact of over $1 billon into our local economy and over 3,000 companies working in film and entertainment are located here including Telemundo, Univision, to name a few.  With projects like WPC TV, we continue to position Miami as the ideal location for forward thinking technology platforms.”

“We are excited at the opportunity to bring a new streaming platform to Miami-Dade. This will position Miami-Dade to attract more streaming service platforms and the infrastructure and jobs that come with it,” said Sandy Lighterman, Film and Entertainment Commissioner, Miami-Dade County Office of Film and Entertainment.
