ClimateReady Tech Hub: Driving Innovation and Resilience

The Miami-Dade ClimateReady Tech Hub, a project led by the county and supported by the Department of Commerce, is transforming the region into a leader in climate resilience and sustainable technology. Focused on green and blue tech, the hub targets core areas like resilient infrastructure, coastal protection, and energy solutions designed for humid, subtropical climates. By developing climate-adaptive innovations, it aims to address rising sea levels, severe weather, and environmental challenges while fostering equitable economic growth.

ClimateReady Tech Hub is set to generate 23,000 jobs with an average salary of $83,000 and add $41 billion to the regional GDP. Signature projects include advanced building materials, green-gray coastal technologies, and energy-efficient systems. The hub also emphasizes equitable access to job opportunities for underrepresented communities, with 15,100 positions intended for these groups. Collaborative efforts with public, private, and academic partners ensure Miami-Dade’s readiness to lead global climate innovation, enhancing economic prosperity and resilience across South Florida.
